How does multi-currency work in practice?

Zimbabwe operates a multi-currency regime — ZWG (Zimbabwe Gold) is the local currency but USD and ZAR are also legal tender for many transactions. LettsPOS lets a merchant set a default pricing currency, accept payment in any of the three, settle to whichever wallet/account they prefer, and produces multi-currency P&L. The FX bookkeeping is handled by the platform; the merchant just rings the sale.

Are you RBZ-compliant for invoicing and tax?

Yes — at general availability, LettsPOS will issue ZIMRA-compliant tax invoices (VAT 15%) natively. Multi-currency tax handling per RBZ guidance is built into LettsOS. ZIPIT direct integration handles instant interbank settlement.

How does the Beitbridge corridor matter?

Beitbridge is the SADC region’s busiest land border — connecting Zimbabwe to South Africa, the largest economy in SADC. Cross-border merchants regularly lose hours to paperwork there. Letts Trade pre-clears AfCFTA paperwork in advance so trucks roll across in 60-90 minutes vs the historical 4-8 hours.

Will EcoCash be the only mobile-money rail or will others come?

EcoCash dominates with ~85% market share, so it’s first-class from day one. OneMoney (NetOne) and Telecash (Telecel) are smaller but also integrated. ZIPIT is the load-bearing rail for instant interbank — added as first-class because it works for B2B and high-value transactions where EcoCash has limits.
